April 2010

Costume Week  We will hold Costume Week/Recital Information Week from Monday, April 12th through Saturday, April 17th.  At least one parent must attend each regular class with their dancer to receive dress rehearsal, picture and show information.  If you have any balances due, your child will not receive their costume until your balance is paid infull (including all late fees).

Studio Closed  The studio will be closed the week after the recital from Monday, April 26th through Saturday, May 1st.

Upcoming Dance Classes  During Costume Week, information will be available for the summer program, summer dance camp and next year's fall/spring program.  Sign-ups will begin as soon as the information is released, so don't miss out on your chance to reserve your dancer's spot for summer, camp and next year!

Lost & Found  If you are missing something that you think might have been left at the studio, please check the Lost & Found before the end of April.  The Lost & Found boxes at both locations will be cleared out after the recital and all items will be donated.

May Program  Information will be coming during Costume Week about our May program.  The schedule will shift from our fall/spring program schedule to our parade class schedule.  If you'd like your dancer to participate in the La Vista Days Parade (Sat, May 29th @ 1:00) or the Papillion Days Parade (Sat, June 19th @2:00), please plan to have them attend a May class based on their age.  We'd love to show the La Vista and Papillion communities what an amazing group of dancers we have, so please plan to perform at one or both parades!

Exciting News!  With the recent move of Highgear Bike Shop and with our Papillion lease expiring this summer, we're announcing the expansion of our La Vista studio!  The demo and expansion will begin soon and will be finished by June 1st.  The upstairs expansion will feature one large dance studio, new workshop/storage area, new office, additional restrooms, front desk/reception area, open apparel room, children's play area and additional lobby space.  We're very excited to be able to bring all 3 studios under one roof!

March 2010

Recital Fee  As a reminder, recital fees are due by Monday, March 8th.  The recital fee covers the cost of auditorium rental, scenery, props, stage staff, etc, and allows each family to invite as many guests as they would like.  We do not issue tickets or assign seats for recital!  Recital fee is $75 for 1 dancer and $100 for families with 2 or more dancers (living at the same address).  A late fee of $10/week will be added to your recital fee beginning on Tuesday, March 9th.  Remember, the recital fee is completely separate from costume fees that were paid in December.  You may add the recital fee to your March tuition payment!

October 2009

Great Start  The staff and I have been very pleased with the progress of each class in the past month. We are very excited to continue working with your children to help them grow as dancers and individuals!

Halloween Costumes  Students will be allowed to wear their Halloween costumes beginning on Saturday, October 24th. Please have dancers wear their normal dance attire underneath their costume in case their costume is too restricting and needs to be taken off. There will be no classes on Saturday, October 31st…Happy Halloween!

Car Decals  We will again be offering ADC car decals with your child’s name printed on them. If you would like to order a decal, please fill out the attached order form (print your child(ren)’s name legibly please!) and put it in the tuition box with your payment of $15/decal by Monday, October 19th. If you have more than one child dancing with ADC, you may put more than one name on each decal. The decals will be in by the middle of November.

Weather-related Closings  The studio only closes during holiday breaks (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas & Spring Break) or during bad weather. We will remain open during all parent/teacher conference breaks, teacher in-service days and any other days off from school, including national holidays like Columbus Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President’s Day, etc. Holiday breaks are noted in our 2009-2010 brochures, and we’ll give you a reminder in the monthly newsletters. When bad weather begins to arrive, we will cancel class if the majority of the major school districts are not holding classes/activities. The studio voicemail will always be updated by 2:30 p.m. if bad weather arrives during the day. If bad weather begins to arrive through the course of the evening, please call before coming to class!

Bathroom Use  To decrease bathroom interruptions, please encourage your dancers to use the restroom before dance class begins. Please also remind them that they can excuse themselves from class to use the restroom if needed.

Policies and Procedures  Please take a moment to review our policies and procedures, which are described on the attached sheet. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Optional Second Costume Deposit  In an effort to get the recital costumes delivered well before the show, we’re going to collect the full costume balance in November this year instead of December as in previous years. If you’d like to stay on top of this upcoming balance, you have the option to pay another $20 costume deposit in October. As a reminder, the total costume cost will range between $65-$85 and will vary from class to class. In the coming weeks, each family will receive a statement to reflect the total balance remaining on each costume, and the final payments will be due by Saturday, November 21st.

Spring Recital  We will once again be holding our recitals during recital weekend, April 24-25, 2010. The students who are in the 2-3 and 4-5 classes will be in a separate recital lasting about 1 hour, on Sunday afternoon (usually beginning around 2 p.m.).  All students’ dress rehearsal and pictures will be held on Saturday. The recital for 6 & up will be later on Sunday, usually beginning at 4:30 p.m. You will receive your child’s show information next month with your child’s costume balance.

Tuition  As a reminder, your monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month and is considered late if not paid by the 8th. A $10 late fee will be added to your monthly tuition if it isn’t received by the 8th. If you won’t be at the studio before the 8th, please send your tuition to: 8610 Brentwood Drive #7, La Vista 68128. Tuition is not pro-rated for missed classes due to illness, vacation or bad weather. Thank you for your prompt attention to your child’s tuition each month. It is greatly appreciated!

September 2009

Welcome to Acapriccio Dance Company!  To all of our new students, thanks for joining us!  To all of our returning students, welcome back!  We are looking forward to another exciting dance year at ADC!

Newsletters   Each month your child will receive a newsletter to let you know what is happening at the studio for the upcoming month.  The newsletter also serves as a reminder that tuition is due.  As a reminder, tuition is due on the 1st of each month and considered to be late if not paid by the 8th.  There will be a $10 late fee added after the 8th of each month (this will be waived for the month of September, during which tuition will be due on the 15th).  It can be a bit confusing with the extra fees that are due at the start of each dance year, so if you’re not sure whether you’ve paid September’s tuition yet, please contact the studio to check! We can also check to make sure that you’re current on your recital costume deposits. You can reach us by phone at 592-6722, via email at ADCboss@cox.net or in person at the La Vista studio.
Payments   Monthly tuition payments can be made with cash (at the La Vista studio only), check (deposited in the tuition box at either studio or mailed to the La Vista studio at 8610 Brentwood Drive #7, La Vista, 68128), or online at www.ADCdance.com (online payments can be made individually or scheduled as automatic monthly payments). If you choose to schedule automatic tuition payments online, we will only charge the tuition each month – extra fees (such as costume deposits) will not be deducted without your express permission.

Dress code   Students should be properly dressed for each class they attend, including the proper dance shoes.  All students, regardless of which classes they are taking, are required to wear a leotard (any color) and may wear shorts, skirts, capris or jazz pants over their leotards.  Any t-shirts or sweatshirts will need to be taken off before class begins.  Fitted tank tops may be worn over the top of leotards.  Also, please be sure that your child has a dance bag to place their belongings in during class time.  This bag will also allow your child to carry their shoes in and out of the studio instead of wearing them into the studio.  Please do not allow your child to wear their dance shoes outside, since this can cause unnecessary wear and tear to your child’s dance shoes.  Also, ALL dance shoes should be clearly marked with your child’s first and last name.  If dance shoes are misplaced, they will only be able returned to their owner if they are marked with your child’s name.  Otherwise, they will be placed in the lost and found.

2-3 and 4-5 combo students   If your child is enrolled in a tap/ballet combo class, they will always begin class in their tap shoes.  Your child’s ballet shoes (4-5 year olds) should be placed in their dance bag and brought into class so they can change during class.  It may take a while at first, but please allow your child to change their shoes on their own during class time.  Thanks!

On time   We will begin and end each class on time.  Please be sure to have your child in class on time (after using the restroom!) and pick them up promptly when class is over.  ADC and the ADC staff are not responsible for children left unattended once classes are excused.  Please arrange to have rides available to pick your child up immediately once class is over.

Office   Our office manager, Tammi, will be at the La Vista studio on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to answer questions, process payments, fit your children for shoes, etc.  Please let her know if you need assistance with anything regarding your dancer’s account.  If she’s not able to offer immediate answers, she or I will get back to you as soon as possible.
